The "Grande Dame" of Pennsylvania's Gothic Revival Bank Barns,
The Star Barn has been completely restored to its original beauty.

The Historic 1877 Star Barn and its ancillary structures were disassembled and moved from Middletown, Pennsylvania to Stone Gables Estate in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania where they have been meticulously reconstructed and restored. Additionally, numerous other structures and amenities have been added to complement the site, now known as, “The Star Barn Village.”

To showcase the completion of this beautiful and historic site, the community is invited to attend The Star Barn Village Grand Opening. This ticketed event will take place on July 3 and 4, 2018. Event entrance will be at Newville Road, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

Come and enjoy this 1877 National Historic Treasure's artistry complete with:

This structure, with a built-in louvered star, was located on the opposite side of Route 283 from the original Star Barn site, and was donated to us by Tom Williams. We rebuilt this structure according to its original dimensions and look; however, mostly new materials were used due to its planned future use and the state of deterioration of the original structure. Once used to store hay on its two floors for horses and other animals, it now serves as The Star Barn Museum and commercial kitchen to service the repurposed original main Star Barn.

In the 1920’s, a concrete block milk house was added to The Star Barn structures when the use of The Star Barn farm changed from horses to a dairy operation. Once again, poetic license was used to recreate this structure, fitting with the grand Gothic Revival style of the original Star Barn complex. Its limestone and white-clad traditional Star Barn siding now houses a fireplace, changing area, and restroom facilities for our bridal parties and guests. All aspects of John Motter’s original design of The Star Barn structures were adhered to as we added this precious jewel to the property.
